What is Thermal Maple?
-The technology consists of heating the wood at high temperature (from 190 to 240 °C) in an oven which has a controlled low oxygen atmosphere. The heating time and the degree of temperature sustained for a given time depends on the torrefied species and the desired color.
-Torrefaction caramelizes the wood, giving it a honey blonde to dark brown shade, depending on the treatment applied. In addition, the treatment emphasizes the wood grain.
-Thermal/Torrified wood is more resistant to fungi and molds that mark and degrade the wood. The process largely destroys the cells on which insects and wood pests feed. Torrefied wood is therefore ready for outdoor applications and is as durable as cedar or chemically-treated wood. What’s more, it is not harmful to health.
How to Maintain or Restore a Cutting Board:
Cutting board maintenance and restoration is relatively simple. Clean the cutting board first with light soap and lukewarm water, then allow plenty of time to dry. If there are deep knife cuts or if any mold is visible, sanding the board down will be necessary using an electric orbit sander or planer if available. After sanding all surfaces simply apply a coat of our Cutting Board Oil and allow it to dry for 12 to 24 hours. Wipe away any excess oil after cure time.

No. The floor of the planter comes slightly slatted to allow for drainage. However, additional drainage holes can be added (just let us know).

Sealant is an all-natural, non-toxic and eco-friendly soybean sealant we use to treat our planters. It helps prolong the longevity of the planter and protect it from the heat and cold. It goes on clear and dries clear.
We suggest keeping it covered and/or bringing your planter indoors.
We accept cancellations within 24 hours of purchase. After the 24 hour grace period, your order has been accounted for. If you still wish to cancel, there is a re-stocking fee of 25%-50% of your purchase total. The fee is dependent on the stage your order is in.
